Teacher Education Institution Competency Assessment

Teacher Education Institution Competency Assessment

The Teacher Education Institution Competency Assessment is a comprehensive national evaluation system established in 1998 to enhance the quality of teacher preparation and cultivate prospective teachers capable of leading future education. The sixth cycle of the assessment was conducted in the summer of 2025.

This assessment evaluates key areas including faculty, curriculum, practicum-based education and student guidance, aptitude and personality competencies, educational environment, and educational outcomes. The results serve as foundational data for determining appropriate teacher education enrollment levels—taking into account factors such as declining student populations, teacher supply and demand forecasts, and teacher employment exam competition rates—and for establishing teacher education policies.

In alignment with these aims, the Center continues to advance curricular and co-curricular programs and strengthen linkages with school settings, thereby contributing to the development of a high-quality teacher education model.
