Meaning of Educational Volunteer Service

This course aims to provide prospective teachers in the College of Education with opportunities to more actively experience educational field settings and to directly provide educational volunteer services to elementary, middle, and high school students who require various educational services. Through this, it is expected that high-quality educational opportunities will be provided to students in the local community, and that the sense of mission and professionalism of prospective educators will be enhanced.

Eligibility

  • Educational Volunteer Service 1: Students taking the course for the first time (admitted in 2009 or later, or admitted before 2009 who have not completed middle school teaching practicum).

  • Educational Volunteer Service 2: Students who have completed Educational Volunteer Service 1. Cannot be taken during the same semester as Teaching Practicum.

Grading

  • S (Pass) / U (Fail); Retake allowed

Course Hours

  • Pre-training: 1 hour; Volunteer work: 30+ hours; Evaluation: 2 hours; Total: 33+ hours

Additional Notes

  • A single day of volunteer service should not exceed 3 hours (adjustments possible upon consultation). Volunteer service should take place in actual school settings. Hours are recognized only with confirmation from the supervising teacher.
